While affected by the spatial rupturing caused by The Crushing Fist, it was better protected than the other multiverse realities contained within the Outer Shield due to the existence of an additional golden Inner Shield. This shield could only be penetrated by specific signalling devices that look like Metallic Chips. The First World had previously been allied with the Brownshirts, who at the time were a society of ascended beings of pure energy. The Brownshirts helped create the mechanisms that generate the shields and also helped grow the branches of realities known as the Branch Worlds.
