The Inner Shield is described as a large, golden shield that protects [[The First World]] and prevents unwanted inter-dimensional ingress from outside. The Inner Shield is a last line of defense, situated behind a barrier made of [[Farming World]]s and other realities, beyond which is the [[Outer Shield]], which is intended to protect all of the human populated realities in that section of the multiverse.
The Inner Shield is generated and supported by vast machines located on [[The First World]] and some supporting [[Branch World]]s. Due to the immense compression the universes are under, the machinery is generating vast quantities of heat, which are affecting weather conditions across the entirety of [[The First World]].
Due to the structures of both the Inner Shield, [[Outer Shield]] and [[Branch World]]s, should the [[Outer Shield]] fail completely and the full compression of [[The Crushing Fist]] be exerted on the Inner Shield, [[The First World]] will be the focal point of the destruction.
