Not much is known thus far about The Thompson Doctrine, named after Cristina Thompson. The doctrine seems to be based on Cristina's collective experiences traversing the multiverse. Only two parts of the doctrine have been discussed, the first being "guns don't help", and the second being "every world has its own form of existential danger happening all the time, slowly or quickly, but present all the same". Cristina has expressed these ideas in the past, including training the children to expect any and all forms of danger in the other worlds they encounter, and telling Jonathan Cortin that she has "never come across a situation out here where a gun would have done a damn thing". These ideas, and possibly others, may have formed the basis for the doctrine.
